Whether to lease or finance a 2026 Lincoln comes down to three numbers, and we can usually tell which way a customer should go within the first few minutes at the desk. Answer these three honestly and the math answers itself.
The number
Lease leans better when…
Finance leans better when…
1. Annual mileage
You stay under the annual-mileage cap you pick at signing.
You drive high miles — no cap, no per-mile overage meter.
2. Ownership horizon
You want a new Lincoln every 2–4 years, in current tech.
You keep a vehicle 6+ years and want payments that stop.
3. Cash-flow priority
You want the lowest monthly payment, or to step up a trim.
You'd rather build equity you keep.
A common Florida miss: I-4 commuters and coast trips push mileage past the bracket faster than people expect. If that's you, finance usually wins.
One Florida wrinkle: with no state income tax, the math here turns on your mileage and how long you keep the car, not tax strategy. Sales tax still applies, handled differently on a lease than a purchase — we walk through that at the desk.

02The math, side by side
Lease vs buy: the side-by-side comparison.
The clearest comparison is one car, one MSRP, both contracts. Below is a Lincoln Nautilus Reserve run through each.
The structure is representative of Lincoln AFS. Your actual payment, money factor, and residual are quoted at the desk.

Monthly payment range
~$649 to $849 on a 2026 Nautilus Reserve, depending on incentives
~$949 to $1,099 on the same vehicle at standard Lincoln AFS finance rate
Down payment typical

$0 to $5,000 (down payment lowers monthly and total interest)

Lincoln AFS lease-end inspection per published guidelines
Owner's responsibility, no inspection
Total cost over 6 years
Two consecutive 36-mo leases ≈ $36,000–$46,000 in payments, no equity
One 60-mo finance ≈ $48,000–$54,000 financed, plus residual ownership value
The bottom line:
Lease wins on monthly cash flow. Lower payment, newer vehicle more often.
Finance wins on long-term cost if you keep the vehicle past 60 months.
Either way, both contracts at Parks Lincoln include Lincoln Complimentary Maintenance for the first 4 years or 50,000 miles — the typical bumper-to-bumper window, which overlaps a 36-month lease entirely.

04Florida
Florida-specific factors that shape your decision.
A Lincoln Navigator Black Label test drive, where a Parks Lincoln specialist walks a Florida buyer through lease versus finance trade-offs.
Three local realities alter the financial picture for Florida drivers compared to those in other states:
1. No state income tax. Florida is one of nine states with no state income tax, so the lease-versus-buy decision here turns on your driving and your timeline, not on income-tax strategy. (If you write off vehicle expenses for a business, ask your accountant how a Florida lease fits your situation.)
2. Orlando drivers rack up miles. The Seminole-to-downtown commute and the I-4 corridor put a lot of drivers at 18,000 to 22,000 miles a year.
Run that against a low annual-mileage cap and you're paying the contract's per-mile charge on thousands of unplanned miles at lease-end.
So we size the lease to how you actually drive, not to a lower monthly. If your miles are high, we will tell you financing is the better call.
3. How Florida taxes a lease. The 6% state sales tax and the 1% Seminole County surtax apply to each monthly payment, not to the full MSRP up front.
That spreads the tax across the term, so you sign for less out of pocket than on a financed purchase, where the tax lands on the whole price at delivery.
Mileage moves this decision the most. Around 12,000 miles a year, a lease usually wins on monthly cash flow; around 20,000, financing usually wins on total cost. Tell us your real number and we'll show you both.
05Ownership benefit
Lincoln Access Rewards on a leased Lincoln.
Access Rewards points apply at checkout in the service drive and at the parts counter — including end-of-lease tire purchases and lease-end maintenance visits.
Lincoln Access Rewards is not a buyers-only perk. It works the same on a lease.
You earn points at delivery, on every service visit, and on Genuine Lincoln parts, and you keep earning them across the whole lease term, exactly as an owner does.
Where that matters most is at lease-end, when the out-of-pocket costs tend to cluster. The points you've banked over three years can offset the exact expenses a lease return brings:
End-of-lease tire replacement (the most common lease-return cost we see)
The final lease-end maintenance visit
Service work to recondition wear items before the return
Lincoln Motor Company sets the earn rates and redemption values, and your balance lives in your Lincoln Owner Account. You do not have to log in to check it. We pull your points at the desk before any service or lease-end visit, so you know what you can apply before the bill is written.
Where Access Rewards points apply at lease end
End-of-lease tire replacement (a common lease-return need)
Out-of-pocket service work past the 4-yr / 50K-mile Complimentary Maintenance window
Genuine Lincoln accessory and parts purchases through our parts counter
Toward the purchase of your next Lincoln, if you decide to buy rather than return
Redemption categories per the published Lincoln Access Rewards program: the Rewards Collection, Lincoln Service, parts, accessories, eligible Connected Services, and the purchase of your next Lincoln vehicle. Lincoln sets the earn and redemption terms; ask us to pull your balance at the desk.

It depends on annual mileage and how long you plan to keep the vehicle.
If you drive under 15,000 miles per year and want a new Lincoln every 36 months with lower monthly cash flow, a Lincoln AFS Red Carpet Lease is generally the better path.
If you drive over 15,000 miles per year or plan to keep the vehicle past the 4-year complimentary-maintenance window, a 60-month or 72-month finance contract is generally better on total cost.

Lincoln Automotive Financial Services offers Red Carpet Lease programs with multiple annual-mileage plans — Lincoln publishes plans starting from 5,000 miles per year. The mileage cap is chosen at signing and locked for the term.
Any mileage beyond the contracted cap is charged at the per-mile rate stated in your lease agreement, and we show you that rate before you sign.
We size the lease mileage to your actual driving estimate, not the lowest available cap, to avoid overage at lease end.
Yes. Every Lincoln AFS Red Carpet Lease includes a published residual buyout figure in the contract, calculated as a percentage of MSRP at the start of the term.
At lease end, you can hand the vehicle back or lease another Lincoln. You can also buy it outright at the residual buyout price plus tax.
Parks Lincoln of Longwood writes lease buyouts in-house, and our Finance team walks through the buyout math against current Lincoln Certified Pre-Owned market values at the desk.
Yes. Lincoln Access Rewards earns points on lease deliveries the same as new-vehicle purchases, and lease customers earn ongoing points on every paid service visit and parts purchase at any participating Lincoln dealer.
The full earn-and-redeem structure is published at the Lincoln Owner Resources page, and points apply at checkout in our service drive or parts counter.
We have confirmed point balances at check-in for lease customers on every Access Rewards transaction.
Lincoln Motor Company publishes the active 2026 incentive lineup at the Lincoln Offers page, refreshed monthly.
Typical 2026 lease incentives include lease cash on specific trims, conquest cash for owners trading from a competing brand, and loyalty cash for current Lincoln owners and lessees.

Most Lincoln AFS finance applications return a credit decision in under 30 minutes during normal business hours.
Online pre-approval through Apply for financing returns a decision before you visit the dealership, which speeds the at-the-desk paperwork to roughly 45 minutes for a standard transaction.
Our Finance team works with Lincoln AFS plus a panel of lender partners, so we can match a tier-1 buyer to the Lincoln AFS lease program or place a credit-challenged buyer with an appropriate lender, both at the same desk.
