Allow me to take a few minutes to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation in the most recent experience I had in leasing a brand new Lincoln MKZ.  I have always believed that it is important that one take time to express their feelings, positive or negative, be it in a restaurant with food and service and speaking to a manager or at a retail store after making a purchase and filling out a comment card.  However, I have never taken the time to comment after buying or leasing a car.  After all in the past I was always one of "many buyers" in the long-line of customers at a giant dealership.  In this case it is quite appropriate that I take a minute to let you know how it went in dealing so closely with the high quality staff at your dealership.  I want you to know that quite sincerely I would have sent this email to you regardless of our relationship as business partners.   

Last Tuesday I spoke to Joe Kay about the opportunity to come up and take out a brand new MKZ with Lincoln 's Date Night.  Just a quick note about Lincoln 's "Drive for your School" event, I can honestly say that I likely would have never considered a Lincoln without this event.  So on Wednesday afternoon I went up to the dealership and met Melinda Edwards who came right out and greeted me with a genuine spirit and true enthusiasm and spoke to me with such a warm and sincere approach, it was as if I had known her for years.  In about 45 minutes I knew all of the important details of the vehicle and I was off driving this car.  Without getting into how unique the Date Night experience really is, let's just say I've never experienced a "test drive" like this ever before.  So off I drove for 48 hours in a brand new 2014 smoked quartz MKZ.  What a car!  Honestly, it felt odd driving a car without a car salesperson driving along with me, in the typical 4 or 5 mile right turn only "loop".  Lincoln 's trust in allowing this to happen was unlike anything I had seen or heard of before.  Remarkable!  When I left on Wednesday afternoon and then came back and dropped the car off on Friday morning, I made it very clear that I was interested in the vehicle however I wanted to see what else was out there.  Nissan, Honda, Acura, and Volkswagen, I went to each local dealership and drove many cars trying to figure out what my next vehicle would be.  I narrowed down my selection to the VW CC R-Sport and the MKZ. 

Sure there are obvious differences in each of the five manufactures but the thing that stood out beyond the make-up and an American made car versus that of an import was the first-class organization/dealership that you have!  Perhaps you cannot see the forest for the trees in your day-to-day happenings at your own dealership but know with PRIDE that your dealership stood head and shoulders above and beyond the others.  There is zero competition from the surrounding dealerships and not long after I drove the VW it became clear that there really was no competition for the MKZ either.  From the professional attitudes and feelings to the way that I was treated when I was on property.  It was so clear that you run a first-class dealership.  There is no comparison when you look at the overall experience I had in my 48 hour car shopping venture!  I was treated as if I was family and as I went back and forth and narrowing down what car I was going to lease not once did I feel pressure or unnecessary stress to "buy this car!"  I knew that Melinda and Joe wanted to sell me a car but not once did I feel like I was in the typical car pressure cooker.  Patience were exhibited and a feeling of putting me in the right car was quite clear. 

Melinda was unlike any salesperson that I had ever worked with.  Friendly, courteous, professional, knowledgeable, patient, tentative, all while making sure that my every need was met without the ridiculous pressures associated with testing out a car.  I've probably bought/leased 9 or 10 vehicles in my lifetime and I never worked with a more consummate professional then Melinda Edwards.  Never!  Joe Kay was equally at the head of the class.  His "We are here for you" and "You let us know what you need" attitude was second to none.  I was totally impressed with his leadership and his nice and relaxed way about him in making all of this come together.  From his easy going "just try it out" words when I picked up the car to his positive "Buy American" attitude.  Not one time did he make me feel like we had to "get things done" nor did he push anything on me that was questionable as it related to entire process.

Joe was right there and yet not hovering and Melinda made sure that every need was met and every question answered.

My car buying experience exceeded all of my expectations.  As a consumer I had a responsibility to "look around" however looking back I wish I never did.  From the "Date Night" to finding the right car to the actual negotiation, I was always at ease and treated with the utmost respect from start to finish.  Throughout the entire process I honestly felt like I was in good hands and given the attention I deserved not because of my position but because it is how you treat ALL of your customers. 

I want to personally THANK YOU for your partnership and your willingness to bring the Drive for your School event to Lake Mary High School !  Thank you for allowing Joe and Melinda the opportunity to work with me and helping me get into my first ever brand new American made car.  You should be proud that these two individuals are at the front line of your dealership because I can honestly say that they are both a positive reflection of you and any leader would want both of these people working with and for them.  What a real pleasure it was and I look forward to being a Lincoln MKZ car owner for many years to come!
